Job summary

AMN Healthcare Leadership Solutions | B.E. Smith is seeking an Interim Nurse Manager for Labor & Delivery in Washington state.

The role leads L&D and postpartum units, reporting to Women’s Services, supervising about 100 FTEs, and guiding daily operations with a focus on quality improvements and staff engagement. The candidate should have strong women’s services experience, familiarity with union contracts, and proven supervisory and unit management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active WA RN license or Compact RN license required.
• Several years of supervisory or managerial experience in labor and delivery management, including oversight of L&D, postpartum, and neonatal care, with familiarity working under a union contract in a hospital-based women’s services or maternity unit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the L&D and postpartum units in a 200-bed hospital and its 20-bed campus facility.
• Oversee two direct reports and approximately 100 FTEs.
• Manage daily operations of Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care; support staff engagement and quality initiatives; assist with onboarding a new RN supervisor.
