Job summary

Odyssey School of Denver is seeking an interim K-4 Assistant Director to lead instruction and culture for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year, with a quick start and potential to transition to a permanent role.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the position co-leads the Instructional Leadership Team, oversees MTSS for K-4, designs professional development, and supports curriculum planning to align K-8 systems. Strong leadership and EL experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' classroom teaching experience in EL schools or a similar model.
• At least two years' experience in curriculum or program development that supports high-quality instruction.
• Strong communication, technology, and organization skills.
• Experience teaching and facilitating adults (coaching, professional development, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the school Leadership Team and co-lead the Mentor Program for new staff.
• Oversee MTSS processes and data for grades K-4 and support the Intervention Team.
• Provide K-8 curriculum development support and align planning with state standards and EL Core Practices.
• Coach and develop K-8 literacy teachers through observations and PD sessions.
• Oversee K-4 assessment and progress monitoring, including SAL roles for ACCESS/ISA.
