Job summary

SSA Marine is seeking a General Manager in the Draper, UT area to provide strategic leadership across the Salt Lake City operations. The role oversees Terminal Billing, Customer Support, Vessel Planning, Systems, and Administrative Services, with a focus on labor relations and operational excellence.

The position requires 7-10+ years of leadership in unionized settings, hands-on bargaining experience (OCU/ILWU preferred), and a Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; or related advanced degree preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in unionized maritime, logistics, transportation, or industrial operations.
• Direct, hands-on experience leading or participating in collective bargaining negotiations; experience with OCU/ILWU preferred.
• Proven track record in labor relations and contract negotiation outcomes.
• TWIC card required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the office through collective bargaining negotiations, including strategy development and proposals.
• Develop constructive labor-management partnerships with union leadership before, during, and after negotiations.
• Oversee compliance with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations programs.
• Provide leadership during grievances, arbitration hearings, and dispute resolution.
• Ensure NLRA compliance and regulatory adherence across operations.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on labor dispute matters and regulatory issues.
• Engage with customers to maintain service quality and address concerns.
