Job summary

STRIVE NYC is seeking an experienced Interim Executive Director to provide steady, hands-on leadership during a critical transition as the organization prepares to select a permanent leader.

Reporting to STRIVE's President and CEO, the interim leader will oversee day-to-day operations, strengthen cross-program collaboration, manage budgets and contracts, and partner with development and government stakeholders to sustain STRIVE NYC’s mission.

Qualifications

• Seasoned nonprofit executive capable of guiding complex operations through transition.
• Strong budgeting, contract management, and risk oversight experience.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and align stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall executive leadership for STRIVE NYC during the transition.
• Develop organizational priorities and ensure staff understand roles, responsibilities, decision-making authority, and performance expectations.
• Lead FY 2027 planning, budgeting, staffing assumptions, and performance goals.
• Partner with STRIVE's development team to maintain fundraising momentum and proposals.
• Coach senior staff and ensure accountability across programs.
