Job summary

The College of the Desert seeks a Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety to lead the District’s EHS programs, ensuring CAL/OSHA compliance and a safe environment for employees, students, and visitors.

Responsibilities include overseeing fleet and equipment safety, hazardous materials handling, training, inspections, and coordination with insurers and external partners to manage risk and compliance effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in a technical/safety role
• Two years in a supervisory, lead, or managerial role

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and support the District’s EHS programs and compliance activities.
• Oversee fleet, equipment, and safety program management and training.
• Coordinate with outside contractors, insurers and OEMs on safety-related projects.
• Perform inspections, incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.
