B.E. Smith is partnering with an Alaska medical center in Anchorage to recruit an Interim Director, Surgical Services. This leadership role oversees Pre-Op, Ambulatory Surgery, Operating Room, PACU, Endoscopy, Pain Services, and Sterile Processing to drive safe, efficient, patient-centered care.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree, an active AK RN license, and at least five years of relative leadership experience; start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim operational and nursing leadership across Surgical Services (Pre-Op, Ambulatory Surgery, Operating Room, PACU, Endoscopy, Pain Services, Sterile Processing).
• Lead clinical and operational performance to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care and optimize staffing, resources, workflows, and finances.
• Partner with physician leaders and stakeholders to strengthen surgical operations and advance perioperative initiatives.
• Champion quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and nursing standards while promoting accountability and autonomy.
• Develop leaders and frontline teams through coaching, development, succession planning, and workforce well-being initiatives.
