Interim Director of Nursing, Surgery Center Needed in San Francisco, California!

The Position

• An Interim Director of Nursing, Surgery Center is needed to provide clinical and operational leadership for a specialized ambulatory surgery center.
• Reporting to the Interim Chief Executive Officer, this leader will oversee approximately 12 FTEs.
• Key responsibilities include preparing staff for an upcoming regulatory survey and ensuring survey readiness through education, guidance, and mock surveys. This leader will also focus on developing standardized checklists to establish best practices, strengthen policies and procedures, and promote consistency across surgical operations.
• The ideal candidate will be an experienced ambulatory surgery center nursing leader with a hands‑on, approachable, and collaborative leadership style. This individual should excel at providing clear direction, building trust, and fostering a supportive, accountable team environment. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and excellent communication skills will be essential.
• Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active California RN license required.
• Previous nursing leadership experience within an ambulatory surgery center, along with demonstrated experience in regulatory survey preparation, mock surveys, and surgical services policies and procedures, required.

Compensation Details

• Compensation Range: $150,000 to $160,000 annually.
• The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
• The listed base compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments.
