Vaco is partnering with a manufacturing client in Portland, TN to place an Interim Controller for an immediate consulting engagement. The role requires a hands-on accounting leader capable of GL clean-up across AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, and cash flow, with ERP optimization (Epicor).

Local to the greater Middle Tennessee area and able to travel to Chicago for a knowledge transfer. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting experience at controllership level, strong manufacturing/cost

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with controls/leadership experience.
• Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience, including standard costing.
• Hands-on with monthly close, GL, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities

• GL clean-up across AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets and cash flow.
• Review reconciliations and entries; be hands-on as needed.
• ERP optimization or transformation experience to improve processes.

We are partnering with a manufacturing client in Portland, TN, seeking an experienced Interim Controller for an immediate consulting opportunity. This role will require a hands-on accounting leader that is comfortable in a clean-up environnment. Responsibilities include GL clean-up across various areas (AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, and cash flow), ERP optimization (Epicor), and willingness to be hands-on with review of reconciliations and entries as needed.

You will have an accounting team to leverage, but must still be comfortable with being hands-on. This is a great role for someone in North Nashville area!

Qualifications & Requirements

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with proven experience at the controllership level
• Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience, including standard costing
• Proven ability to be hands‑on with monthly close, general ledger, reconciliations, and day‑to‑day accounting operations
• Experience identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies, improving processes, and developing actionable solutions
• ERP optimization or transformation experience highly preferred
• Must be immediately available and local to the greater Middle Tennessee area
• Ability to work on‑site in Portland, TN (hybrid - 2-3 days a week on-site)
• Willingness to travel to Chicago for a potential one‑time, 3-4 day knowledge transfer early in the engagement
