Job summary

Vaco is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations, partnering with leadership and operations to drive efficiency, reporting accuracy, and process improvements.

The role focuses on managing the general ledger, payroll oversight, cost accounting, and monthly closes while ensuring GAAP compliance and robust internal controls in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 6+ years of public and/or corporate accounting experience.
• Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• ERP experience (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll oversight, inventory, cost accounting, reconciliations, and monthly close.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Partner with operations on cost tracking, margin analysis, inventory management, and production reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operational decision-making.
• Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and ERP workflows.
• Assist with audits, tax support, and compliance reporting.
