Job summary

Vaco is partnering with a manufacturing client in Portland, TN for an Interim Controller consulting opportunity. The role requires a hands-on accounting leader to perform GL clean-up across AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, and cash flow, with ERP optimization in Epicor.

You will lead with an accounting team but maintain a hands-on approach, review reconciliations and entries as needed, and travel to Chicago for a short knowledge transfer if required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience at the controllership level.
• Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience, including standard costing.
• Hands-on with monthly close, general ledger, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Experience identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies, improving processes, and developing actionable solutions.
• ERP optimization or transformation experience highly preferred.
• Must be immediately available and local to the greater Middle Tennessee area.
• Ability to work on-site in Portland, TN (hybrid - 2-3 days a week on-site).
• Willingness to travel to Chicago for a potential one-time, 3–4 day knowledge transfer early in the engagement.
