Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting’s client is seeking an Interim Controller in Georgia to oversee core accounting functions and support financial reporting during a temporary engagement. The role is on-site and involves ERP-related projects, month-end close, and ensuring control compliance.

The candidate should bring hands-on accounting expertise, strong GAAP knowledge, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, system migrations, testing, data validation, or process documentation preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Support inventory accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Partner with finance and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with established controls.
• Support ongoing ERP implementation activities, including testing, data validation, process documentation, and user support as needed.
