Job summary

Daley And Associates, LLC seeks an experienced Interim Controller for a hands-on role in New York, NY. You will oversee daily accounting operations, month-end close, labor posting, billing, and reporting, leveraging Deltek Costpoint and Time & Expense.

The contract spans 6–12+ months with compensation in the range of $80–$90 per hour, depending on experience. Strong technical accounting and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial hands-on Deltek Costpoint experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute and manage a full month-end close in Deltek Costpoint.
• Experience administering Deltek Time & Expense timekeeping workflows.
• Experience in a government contracting environment with FAR and DCAA knowledge.
• Billing experience on fixed-price contracts including milestone invoicing and unbilled asset management.
• Proficiency with Deltek BI reporting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation, and variance analysis).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Accounting Operations & Month-End Close: Own the monthly close cycle and post journal entries.
• Balance Sheet & Reconciliations: Prepare monthly reconciliations across cash, AP/AR, payroll liabilities, and expenses.
• Labor, Timekeeping, & Payroll Support: Manage timekeeping workflows and labor postings.
• Project & Contract Accounting: Support project accounting, track unbilled assets, and assist with invoicing.
• Accounts Payable: End-to-end AP processing and vendor maintenance.
• Reporting & Analysis: Produce recurring reports on project performance, billing, and AR/AP aging.
• Process Improvement: Identify control gaps and bottlenecks to improve processes.
