Job summary

StevenDouglas partners with a fabrication client seeking an Interim Controller for an on-site, 2-3 month engagement in NE Houston. The candidate will lead finance, partner with leadership, and drive accounting structure in a lean environment.

The role requires hands-on control of monthly close, forecasting, and project accounting, with oversight of AP and procurement, and a focus on process documentation and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Hands-on controller in a lean, fast-growing environment.
• Construction/ fabrication/ manufacturing background preferred.
• Experience with percentage of completion (POC) and solid working knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly financial reporting, month-end close, and improve reporting tools.
• Take over cash flow management and forecasting.
• Oversee AP and procurement processes.
• Stand up financial controls and documented processes.
• Ensure accurate project reporting across active projects.

StevenDouglas is partnering with a fabrication client in their search for an Interim Controller. This role is 100% onsite in North East Houston and is an interim engagement for 2-3 months, potentially longer.

This role will operate as a hands-on finance leader who can partner with the leadership, project management, and operations teams. The company is in a high growth phase and needs someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of the accounting function, and build structure in a lean, agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly financial reporting and the month-end close, and improve reporting tools currently built in spreadsheets
• Take over cash flow management and forecasting
• Provide oversight of AP and procurement
• Stand up financial controls and documented processes
• Ensure project reporting is accurate and complete
• Improve invoicing speed across active projects with varied billing structures
• Manage revenue recognition on projects
• Support tax preparation and reporting, working with the outside CPA firm
• Revamp project management tools in partnership with operations
• Lead and develop a small team, including AP and a financial analyst based internationally
