Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a venture-backed startup seeking an Interim Controller in Boston, MA for a 3+ month contract at $80-$100/hour (hybrid). This hands-on accounting leadership role reports to founders and works with executive leadership to strengthen accounting operations.

You will lead day-to-day close, ensure accurate reporting, improve controls, support budgeting and forecasting, and help with audit readiness and policy implementation while building scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Significant experience serving as a Controller or senior accounting leader.
• Experience in venture-backed and/or private equity-backed companies.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a rapidly growing, venture-backed startup seeking an experienced Interim Controller to join its leadership team during a critical phase of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with experience supporting venture capital-backed and/or private equity-backed organizations in fast-paced, scaling environments.

The Interim Controller will partner closely with founders and executive leadership to strengthen accounting operations, enhance financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
