Job summary

Illinois Counseling Centers, LLC is preparing to launch outpatient substance use disorder treatment services in Illinois. The Interim Clinical Director will lead clinical development, licensure readiness, and launch activities as an independent contractor.

During pre-opening, you will help build policies, ASAM-based programming, staffing structures, and compliance. After launch, provide clinical leadership while a permanent structure is finalized.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois LCSW or LCPC license in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of behavioral health clinical experience.
• At least 2 years of clinical supervision or program leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of substance use disorder treatment and evidence-based clinical practices.
• Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and experience with structured levels of care.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Strong clinical documentation and compliance knowledge.
• Ability to work collaboratively with organizational and medical leadership.
• Comfortable working as an independent contractor in an interim leadership capacity.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical readiness for licensure and program launch.
• Review and assist with development of clinical policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Support implementation of ASAM-based programming for Outpatient, IOP, and PHP levels of care.
• Assist with development of clinical staffing and supervision structures.
• Review clinical documentation, treatment planning, and quality standards.
• Participate in licensing-readiness meetings, interviews, and surveys as appropriate.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure clinical operations are prepared for launch.
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of treatment services after launch.
• Supervise clinical supervisors and therapy teams.
• Oversee treatment planning, clinical documentation, and decision-making.
• Monitor documentation for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
• Support crisis management and complex clinical situations.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among teams.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Support ongoing regulatory and accreditation compliance.
