Job summary

TALENT SHIFT is seeking an Interim CFO on a project basis for on-site work in Laytonsville, MD. This leadership role oversees finance functions during transition and partners with executives to drive strategic financial actions.

Qualifications include a CPA/ CFA-like background, 7+ years of experience in finance, and residency in the continental U.S. This is a contract-friendly project assignment with Maryland-based operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience in HVAC, plumbing, home services, or field-service organizations is highly preferred.
• Must reside in the continental U.S.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim CFO leadership and maintain stability during leadership transition.
• Lead preparation of board packages, financial presentations, forecasts, and decision-support materials.
• Improve forecasting accuracy and forward-looking financial insights for management and sponsors.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process with assumptions, reviews, and approvals.
• Translate financial results into operational priorities and business actions.
• Oversee monthly close and financial reporting with the accounting team.
