Job summary

Broadview Middle School in Alamance County, NC seeks a School Based Spanish Interpreter-Translator (Title I funded) to support language needs for students and families. The role includes consecutive interpretation at meetings and translation of documents, working 40 hours weekly for 10 months.

Requires HS diploma; preferred experience in interpretation and translation. Reports to the Principal and collaborates with school personnel to improve communication and family engagement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Spanish interpreting (oral) and Spanish translations (written) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Translate all school-based documents to Spanish.
• Provide consecutive interpretation for parents and students during meetings (PTA, IEP, retention, etc.).
• Record Connect-Ed messages in Spanish as needed.
• Develop relationships with Spanish-speaking community to increase access to services.
• Be available to communicate messages to the school from parents.
