Job summary

MediLodge of Richmond is seeking an Admissions Director to lead inquiry and admission activities, conduct facility tours, and educate the community on our skilled nursing and rehab services. You will build relationships with discharge planners, families, and referral sources while coordinating admission plans and census management.

The role requires strong communication, public speaking, and organizational skills, plus knowledge of reimbursement guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in business/communications preferred.
• Two years equivalent experience in Long-Term Care in lieu of degree.
• Previous healthcare admissions/community relations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to inquiries from hospital discharge planners, families, and other referral sources with professional follow-up.
• Manages admission process by maintaining bed availability and facility services information.
• Conducts facility tours and manages occupancy and census/premium mix.
• Makes discharge calls to hospital planners, medical and insurance professionals, and community contacts.
• Spends 50%+ of time outside the facility on community education activities generating referrals.
• Coordinates admission plans and serves as chair of weekly Census Development meetings.
• Maintains knowledge of Federal/State regulations and reimbursement guidelines; assists with managed care referrals.
• Maintains a database of medical contacts/community resources and shares trends with staff.
• Develops and implements community education events showcasing skilled nursing and rehab services.
• Monitors customer satisfaction and shares results to drive action plans; supervises Admissions staff.
