Job summary

State of Maryland - COMP Offices of PPI, OPC, and GA 001 seeks a Director of Intergovernmental Affairs to lead the agency's external relations with local and federal governments. You will serve as a key connector, advancing priorities while helping partners navigate initiatives affecting the Office.

You will work closely with the Comptroller and leadership on policy, outreach, and engagement, coordinating across departments and with government officials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Five years of professional work experience in intergovernmental or government affairs, public policy, administration, or related field.
• Graduate degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• Military service can substitute for education/experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Office's relationships with local and federal governments.
• Coordinate policy outreach and engagement with multiple stakeholders.
• Draft reports, guidance, and briefing materials for senior leadership.
• Monitor legislative developments and advise leadership on implications.
• Plan and execute outreach visits with government partners.
• Collaborate with internal departments on cross-departmental priorities.
