Job summary

The-Dart-Center is seeking a community organizer to join the Good Faith Network, a DART network initiative. You'll build relationships with faith communities, recruit participants, and lead outreach to address root causes of local injustices.

Training is provided, including an initial five-day classroom program and ongoing mentorship; compensation includes starting salary and benefits, with opportunities to coordinate large-scale actions and fundraising campaigns.

Qualifications

• Ability to work some evenings and weekends to accommodate community members.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
• No prior organizing experience is necessary, as we provide the training you’ll need to be successful.
• Ability to travel for several training events throughout the year.
• Fluency in Spanish encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Spend time in the community, building relationships of trust with everyday people of faith.
• Invite people to be part of something bigger and guide them through research into community problems.
• Organize direct action assemblies involving hundreds to demand action and hold decision makers accountable.
• Recruit new congregations, organize local trainings, and coordinate annual fundraising.
