Job summary

The DART Center is seeking an organizer to engage faith communities in addressing root causes of local injustices. You’ll build relationships, lead one-on-one conversations, and guide people to gain a powerful, collective voice while coordinating research and local actions.

You will recruit congregations, run trainings, and help coordinate an annual fundraising drive, with a focus on diverse communities and Spanish-speaking outreach.

• Passion for justice and willingness to act on it.
• Ability to build strong relationships with people from all walks of life.
• Respect for diverse faith traditions and unity to live out the call to do justice.
• Comfort working with people with differing beliefs and find common ground.
• DART encourages applicants from communities of color, low-to-moderate-income, immigrant backgrounds and fluent Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Spend time in the community, building relationships of trust with everyday people of faith.
• Invite people to join a movement and guide them through researching community problems.
• Organize direct action assemblies involving hundreds or thousands to demand action.
• Recruit new congregations, organize local trainings, and coordinate an annual fundraising drive.
