Job summary

Direct Action and Research Training Center (DART) seeks an organizer to engage faith communities in addressing root causes of local injustices. In this role, you’ll build trust, recruit congregations, and guide leadership development while coordinating trainings and community actions.

You’ll participate in extensive on-the-job development through the DART Organizers Institute, with a starting salary of $52,000 and generous benefits. Evening/weekend work and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Passion for justice and demonstrated action.
• Ability to build strong relationships across diverse communities.
• Respect for all faith traditions and ability to unite faith communities to live out their call to 'do justice'.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends to accommodate community members.
• DART and PEACE operate as diverse coalitions including communities of color and immigrant communities.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with everyday people of faith in the community.
• Recruit congregations, coordinate trainings, and organize actions to demand change.
• Lead direct action assemblies involving large groups and hold decision-makers accountable.
• Participate in fundraising and ongoing training through the DART Organizers Institute.
