Job summary

DART’s Good Faith Network seeks community organizers to unite diverse faith communities and tackle root causes of local problems, building power for justice. You will engage everyday people of faith through conversations, recruit congregations, and coordinate trainings, direct actions, and fundraising, working toward transformative social change across the Kansas City area.

Starting salary is $52,000 with a comprehensive set of benefits including retirement contributions, health reimbursement,

Qualifications

• Passion for justice and demonstrated action in your community.
• Ability to build strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Respect for all faith traditions and willingness to unite faith communities to live out the call to do justice.
• Comfort working with people with deep disagreements and willingness to find common ground.
• Fluency or empathy for Spanish-speaking communities is encouraged.
• Ability to travel for trainings and events.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
• No prior organizing experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Spend significant time in the community building relationships with everyday people of faith.
• Invite people to join in pursuing collective power through dialogue and action.
• Lead or support research into local community problems and organize direct action assemblies.
• Recruit congregations, organize local trainings, and coordinate fundraising drives.
