Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff. The role includes arranging religious services, participating in spiritual assessments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to create care plans that meet identified needs.

The chaplain will coordinate with community faith leaders, document contacts, and participate in care conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school required.
• Master's degree from an accredited seminary or school of theology preferred.
• 2 years relevant experience required.
• Ordained/Endorsed by recognized religious body; Board Certified Chaplain preferred; certification encouraged within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct spiritual care to patients, families, caregivers, and staff.
• Participates in spiritual assessments with patient/family.
• Develops care plans to meet spiritual needs with the interdisciplinary team.
• Serves as liaison to community chaplains and faith leaders.
• Documents all contacts and relevant information.
• Participates in care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Provides education and support on spiritual care to the team.
• Arranges funeral or memorial services and bereavement support.
• Works regionally for department coverage as needed.
• Participates in planning spiritual care events with the manager.
