The U.S. Department of Defense seeks a senior Air Force analyst applying engineering principles to aerospace systems, sensors, and subsystems within the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior Air Force analyst, providing professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring knowledge and application of engineering principles, methods, and techniques. This is an Interdisciplinary position that may be filled as a General Engineer, GG-0801-14, Mechanical Engineer, GG-0830-14, Electronics Engineer GG-0855-14, or Aerospace Engineer, GG-0861-14 in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the \"Professional\" work category are at the \"Senior\" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements describes in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions.
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: a mastery of one or more professional or administrative fields; knowledge of current and emerging aircraft subsystems including avionics, sensors, weapons, propulsion, and communications systems and radar systems is necessary; working understanding of various airborne electronic warfare and offboard support systems is desirable; knowledge of intelligence requirements, tasking, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, reporting, collection, production, and dissemination; knowledge of program management, technical operational background, contract management, and financial management procedures; knowledge of other engineering disciplines, technical design and development project work, and standard acquisition regulation, practices, and procedures. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

1. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
