US National Air and Space Intelligence Center in Ohio is seeking a Threat Analyst to provide general analytic support to intelligence programs and systems. The role involves evaluating information, identifying requirements, and contributing to the development and sustainment of Air Force capabilities.
The developmental position ranges at GG-07, GG-09, or GG-12 with promotion potential to GG-12, and salary is set within the DCIPS framework based on qualifications and regulatory rules.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Threat Analyst providing general analytic support to intelligence and intelligence-related programs and systems. Supports effective research, development, simulation, testing, fielding, employment, sustainment, and improvement of AF capabilities by identifying engineering requirements, resolving/mitigating deficiencies, and integrating intelligence. This position is a developmental position and will be filled at the GG-07, GG-09 or GG-12 level with promotion potential to the GG-12. The individual selected for this position may be promoted to the target level without further competition upon meeting any legal and regulatory requirements.
This is a GG-07 target GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-07/GG-09 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-07/GS-09 level. The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In Order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements describes in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
Applicant must possess quality level experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Quality experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles and practices in a professional or administrative occupation, such as would be extended in a graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments; and/or an intensive, practical knowledge of a technical field and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches or procedures.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
