The US National Air and Space Intelligence Center is seeking a Principal Intelligence Analyst (PIA) to apply engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, and modeling to defense problems. This GG-14 professional position operates at a senior level with leadership responsibilities and requires deep technical expertise.
You will analyze foreign threat systems, develop technical intelligence assessments, and brief senior leadership with highly technical reports and position papers.
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Principal Intelligence Analyst (PIA), providing professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring knowledge and application of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, and modeling/simulation. This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the "GS-14" level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING SERIES (0850), COMPUTER ENGINEERING SERIES (0854), or ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING SERIES (0855).
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience. COMPUTER SCIENCE SERIES (1550).
A. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

Examples of creditable experience include: Professional knowledge of advanced multidisciplinary engineering and computer science concepts, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures. Requires strong technical competence, judgment, leadership, and resourcefulness to conceive and guide the successful conduct and reporting of projects in the mission area. Knowledge with software reverse engineering tools and practices or technical experience which can serve as suitable prerequisite for the development of software reverse engineering skills while possessing an academic degree. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
