Job summary

Job description

The primary purpose of this position is to utilize professional engineering experience to serve as a senior expert and team lead in executing and conducting all-source technical Integrated Command, Control, Communications & Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) intelligence analysis and production.

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

0855 ELECTRONICS ENGINEER: Successfully completed a professional engineering degree: The curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum or include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Combination of education and experience that is college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary engineering concepts, principles, and practices such as would be gained through extended graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments and comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of engineering concepts and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. 1. Knowledge and mastery of the concepts, principles, theories, and practices involved in electronics engineering and related engineering disciplines to perform studies, modify standard practices, and resolve issues related to the planning, development, fielding, and sustainment of complex electrical systems. Basic knowledge in aerospace engineering sufficient to ensure accurate assessments and contributions to applying electrical engineering analysis on air and space systems such as air defense, ballistic missiles, space operations, and counterspace activities. 2. Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to produce all-source technical intelligence on C4ISR systems, C4ISR processes.
