Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Focused Inquiry courses on an as-needed basis. Primary duties include delivering UNIV 111, 112, and/or 200 with appropriate office hours and electronic communication for student support.

Applicants should have a master’s degree, at least three years of college teaching experience, and a strong record of teaching excellence in interdisciplinary general education with emphasis on written and oral communication and

Qualifications

• Evidence of excellence in college-level teaching is required.
• Ability to teach interdisciplinary general education courses with emphasis on written and oral communication and critical thinking.
• At least three years of college teaching experience in a general education curriculum is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruction of UNIV 111, 112, and/or 200 in a three-semester sequence.
• Maintain office hours outside of class and be available via email and other communications.
• Engage students in learner-centered activities promoting integrative thinking and communication.
