Con Edison is seeking an Interconnections Associate Planning Engineer to support interconnection studies for offshore wind, energy storage, and other clean energy projects. The role includes substation power-flow and short-circuit analyses, and identifying upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.
Collaboration with NYISO and developers will be essential to assess impacts on the bulk system.
The Interconnections Associate Planning Engineer will assist with interconnection studies for offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects. They will conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses, support identification of local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations. Additionally, they will support internal engineering activities, interface with NYISO and merchant developers, assess the impacts of new generation/transmission projects on the bulk electric system, assisting with development of recommended modifications for NYISO.
