Job summary

Con Edison is seeking an Interconnections Associate Planning Engineer to support interconnection studies for offshore wind, energy storage, and other clean energy projects. The role includes substation power-flow and short-circuit analyses, and identifying upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.

Collaboration with NYISO and developers will be essential to assess impacts on the bulk system.

Qualifications

• Assist with interconnection studies for offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects.
• Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses to support reliability of the electric system.
• Assist with identification of local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.
• Interface with NYISO and merchant developers to assess impacts on the bulk electric system.

Responsibilities

• Support internal engineering activities and interface with NYISO and developers.
• Assess impacts of new generation/transmission projects on the bulk electric system.
• Assist with development of recommended modifications for NYISO.
