Con Edison is looking for an Interconnections Senior Planning Engineer to oversee interconnection studies for data centers and new clean energy projects. Responsibilities include conducting power-flow analyses for substations and managing engineering support activities. The role interfaces with NYISO and assesses the impacts of new generation/transmission/load projects. This position is critical to maintaining electric system reliability and does not allow for STEM OPT employment.

Job description

The Interconnections Senior Planning Engineer will coordinate and perform interconnection studies for data centers, offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission, and other new clean energy projects. They will conduct power-flow and short circuit analyses for substations, identify local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations. Additionally, they will manage internal engineering support activities, interface with NYISO and merchant developers, assess the impacts of new generation/transmission/load projects on the bulk electric system, and recommend modifications to NYISO.
