Job summary

Elia Grid International (EGI) is expanding its U.S. infrastructure team and seeks an experienced Interconnection Manager to lead the interconnection strategy for major transmission, HVDC/HVAC, renewable integration and grid projects.

You will manage interconnection processes, studies, and negotiations with ISOs/RTOs, utilities and transmission owners, translating outcomes into actionable project implications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Typically 7+ years in interconnection management, grid studies or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. interconnection processes (ISO/RTOs) and utilities.
• Experience with interconnection applications, system/facilities studies and agreements.
• Experience with CAISO/NYISO, PJM, ISO-NE, MISO, ERCOT or similar processes.
• Ability to translate study results into project risks and actions.
• Excellent stakeholder management with ISOs/RTOs, utilities and developers.
• Fluent in English; willing to travel within US and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the interconnection strategy for major transmission and HVDC/HVAC projects.
• Coordinate ISOs/RTOs, utilities, and transmission owners throughout studies and agreements.
• Prepare and follow up on interconnection requests and study scopes.
• Review system impact and facilities studies and cost allocation assumptions.
• Translate study results into technical requirements and project implications.
• Support negotiations with ISOs/RTOs and utilities to align with strategy.
• Ensure compliance with standards, governance and regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate with HVDC/HVAC leads, legal advisors, and commercial teams for integrated delivery.
