Job summary

ERCOT is seeking a capable electrical engineer to provide comprehensive analysis and technical support for Large Load stability, NERC reliability studies, and transmission planning within the Texas power grid. The role involves modeling with PSSE/VSAT/TSAT/PowerWorld, performing stability studies, and presenting findings to ERCOT management and stakeholders.

The position supports a hybrid work model with on-site Taylor, TX responsibilities and progression opportunities across Engineer 2–Lead

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience as a power system engineer or related role (Engineer 2–Lead) in an electric utility context preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Batch stability screening for Large Load interconnection and transmission improvements using power system simulation tools.
• Design and perform stability assessments including PV, angular and voltage stability, and short circuit analysis.
• Support NERC FAC-002 studies for Large Load interconnections.
• Run scenarios and sensitivity analyses; review models and stakeholder reports for accuracy.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for ERCOT management, Market Participants, and regulators.
• Assist in automation of planning and stability screening workflows.
