Job summary

Southern Company seeks a data-driven professional to support the administration and settlement of the Intercompany Interchange Contract (IIC). You will analyze operational, contractual, and financial data to allocate costs and benefits across operating companies and help translate electric system activity into financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-priority management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business software.

Responsibilities

• Support accurate administration and settlement of the Intercompany Interchange Contract (IIC).
• Analyze operational, contractual, and financial data for settlement allocation.
• Develop understanding of settlement methodologies and related processes.
• Perform analytical review of settlement results and investigate variances.
• Provide analytical and settlement support for customer settlement processes and related activities.
• Collaborate with multiple organizations to resolve complex settlement issues.
• Support monthly accounting close activities and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Develop and improve analytical tools, reports, and automated processes.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and data quality.
• Prepare analyses and documentation for management, auditors, and regulators.
• Maintain documentation of settlement methodologies and processes.
