Job summary

Southern Company in Birmingham is seeking a detail-oriented analyst to support the administration and settlement of the Intercompany Interchange Contract (IIC). You will analyze operational, contractual, and financial data to ensure accurate settlements and reporting across Operating Companies.

Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Accounting, and Technology teams to improve processes, develop dashboards, and strengthen internal controls while maintaining data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, CS, Data Analytics, Finance, or related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of information and identify trends.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excel proficiency and familiarity with business software.

Responsibilities

• Support accurate administration and settlement of the Intercompany Interchange Contract (IIC).
• Analyze operational, contractual, and financial data for IIC settlements across Operating Companies.
• Develop and maintain tools, reports, dashboards, and automated processes for settlements.
• Investigate variances and irregular results to identify root causes and ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Energy Policy, Regulatory, Accounting, and Technology teams.
