Job summary

Paymentus is seeking a Technical Client Manager to provide advanced technical analysis and strategic support for merchant payment data. You will audit merchant transactions to optimize interchange rates and develop data-driven tools for cost management across large accounts.

In this role you will analyze statements, manage Level II/III data usage, design proprietary analytics, and build dashboards (Tableau/Power BI) to monitor cost drivers and downgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years in electronic bill pay, credit card processing, merchant acquiring, or treasury.
• Deep knowledge of Interchange structures, NACHA, and Card Network regulations.
• 3+ years in a technical or analytical client-facing role, with experience presenting to management and clients.

Responsibilities

• Interchange optimization: identify savings opportunities and root causes of excessive interchange fees.
• Transaction analysis: assess merchant statements and technical issues to ensure lowest-rate qualification (Level II/III data).
• Technical development: design, write, and enhance proprietary tools and data libraries to automate cost-saving analyses.
• Reporting & Monitoring: develop dashboards (Tableau, Power BI) to track cost drivers and downgrade trends.
• Technical consulting: handle inquiries from internal stakeholders and external clients on scheme fees and optimization strategies.
• Compliance & Market Research: track market trends and monitor compliance with Visa/Mastercard network rules and fee programs.
