Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Action Officer to support a public diplomacy office at the Department of State to strengthen cross-bureau coordination, interagency engagement, and policy support across national security priorities.

The role requires countering foreign malign influence expertise, a SECRET clearance, and the ability to work on-site in Washington, DC, 4–5 days per week, delivering briefs, readouts, and issue papers for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• ACTIVE SECRET clearance (must be maintained)
• Bachelor's degree required
• 5 years' experience at the Department of State
• Experience with interagency processes and collaboration
• Subject matter expertise in countering foreign malign influence
• Ability to work on client site in Washington, DC 4–5 days/week

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between State Department bureaus, interagency partners, and the intelligence community.
• Coordinate information exchange and ensure alignment on priority national security objectives.
• Provide analytical and operational support to leadership including briefs and issue papers.
• Support policies related to countering foreign malign influence and other security threats.
• Coordinate workflows and clearance processes for timely Department products.
• Apply SME to inform decision-making and develop strategies and communication approaches.
