Job summary

Sweetser is hiring an Intentional Peer Support Specialist for AR Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, Maine. The role involves applying peer support tools to build connections and support individuals in their recovery journey.

This position requires CIPSS training within the first year and offers a Monday-Friday schedule with an hourly rate of $20-$21 based on certification. The job emphasizes living recovery experience, collaboration, and guiding individuals toward growth while maintaining mutuality

Qualifications

Lived experience of Recovery with Mental Illness, Trauma or Substance Use and willingness to identify with peers in the community.
Paid or unpaid peer support experience preferred.
Basic computer skills including emails and data entry.

Responsibilities

Fully understands and can actively implement the three principles and four tasks of Intentional Peer Support.
Models relationship building based on the four tasks of peer support with participants, volunteers and colleagues.
Fully understands and can actively implement the Eight Dimensions of Wellness as described by SAMHSA.
Models the attributes of respect, trust, sensitivity and confidentiality to participants, volunteers and colleagues.
Provides support and models healthy relationships.
Follows best practices and guidelines established by the Peer Support in Emergency Departments program.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
