Job summary

Sweetser in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, seeks an Intentional Peer Support Specialist. The role is based at Mayo Regional Hospital with a Monday-Friday schedule and an hourly rate of $20-$21, depending on certification. You will apply recovery-informed practices to build connections and support individuals in their growth journeys, with CIPSS training required within the first year.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of recovery with mental illness, trauma, or substance use.
• Paid or unpaid peer support experience preferred.
• Understanding of Intentional Peer Support within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Basic computer skills, including email and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Fully understands and implements the three principles and four tasks of Intentional Peer Support.
• Models relationship building with participants, volunteers and colleagues.
• Understands and applies the Eight Dimensions of Wellness per SAMHSA.
• Maintains respect, trust, confidentiality with participants, volunteers and colleagues.
• Provides support and models healthy relationships.
• Follows guidelines established by the Peer Support in Emergency Departments program.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
