Job summary

The Amherst Public School District (Amethyst Brook Elementary) seeks full-time paraeducators for our elementary Intensive Needs Program serving students with multiple disabilities including autism and cognitive impairments.

You will provide direct support and instruction under the supervision of a special education teacher, assisting in language, social skills, self-regulation, daily living activities, and sensory processing. Toileting duties may apply with a $0.50 per hour differential.

Qualifications

• Experience with or willingness to train in applying ABA techniques.
• Ability to collect data as outlined by the student's programming.
• Ability to support social, emotional, and academic growth in small groups or 1:1.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and instruction under supervision of a special education teacher.
• Support expressive/receptive language, social skills, self-regulation, daily living skills, and sensory processing.
• Attend related services sessions to facilitate carryover of skills.
