Job summary

The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District (Amherst Regional High School) seeks full-time paraeducators for our secondary Intensive Needs Program serving students with multiple disabilities, including autism and cognitive impairments.

You will provide direct support and instruction under a special education teacher, assist with language, social skills, self-regulation, daily living tasks, and sensory processing, and may attend related services to carry over skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with students with significant disabilities or willingness to train.
• Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups to support growth.
• Ability to collect data as outlined by student programs.
• Ability to de-escalate and redirect, using physical supports only when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and instruction under a special education teacher.
• Support language, social skills, self-regulation, daily living tasks, and sensory processing.
• Attend related services (OT, PT, SLH) to carry over skills across settings.
• May perform toileting duties with a $0.50/hour differential when required.
