Job summary

Greene County Educational Service Center is seeking an Intensive Needs Classroom Assistant to provide programmatic support as directed by the classroom teacher, assist with instructional materials, manage student behaviors, and collaborate with building staff and students.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons aligned with TEACCH and INC curriculum, aiding with gross motor activities, providing tailored therapies, and supporting inclusion in school and community settings.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School diploma.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
• Delivers instructional lessons directed by program teacher that align with TEACCH philosophy and INC curriculum
• Participates in gross motor and physical education activities
• Provides tailored therapies to students as prescribed by related service personnel
• Escorts children to assigned instructional areas
• Assists teacher in teaching students to follow routinized systems, including student schedules and program schedules
• Provides behavioral interventions and models appropriate behaviors
• Assists children with toileting and other self-care needs.
• Supports students in inclusive environments in the school and community.
• Collaborates and cooperates with support staff and other building personnel
• Engages in professional development and training designed to reduce physical engagement and increase safety for students and staff
• Engages in appropriate physical management tactics for the safety of students and staff
• Acquires new skills through professional development upon recommendation from supervisor or teacher.
• Participates to the annual evaluation procedure.
• Assists with data collection in order to monitor student growth, or help with FBAs and BIPs
• Conducts other duties related to the aide's duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, Principal, Director, or ESC Superintendent.
