Responsibilities

• Participates in gross motor and physical education activities.
• Provides tailored therapies to students as prescribed by related service personnel.
• Escorts children to assigned instructional areas.
• Assists teacher in teaching students to follow routinized systems, including schedules.
• Provides behavioral interventions and models appropriate behaviors.
• Assists children with toileting and other self-care needs.
• Supports students in inclusive environments in the school and community.
• Collaborates with support staff and other building personnel.
• Participates in professional development to increase safety for students and staff.
• Engages in appropriate physical management tactics for safety.
• Acquires new skills through professional development.
• Participates in annual evaluation procedures.

The Greene County ESC is currently accepting applicants for a long term substitute aide for our INC program. Applicants for this position require a substitute teaching license through the Ohio Department of Education. Title: Intensive Needs Classroom Assistant Employment Status: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week Qualifications: A minimum of a High School diploma Primary responsibility is to provide programmatic support as directed by the classroom teacher, and perform other relevant and appropriate tasks within the school building. Tasks include:

• Preparing instructional materials,
• Assisting with the management of student behaviors
• Working cooperatively with building and program staff and students.

General Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
• Delivers instructional lessons directed by program teacher that align with TEACCH philosophy and follow INC curriculum
• Participates in gross motor and physical education activities
• Provides tailored therapies to students as prescribed by related service personnel
• Escorts children to assigned instructional areas
• Assists teacher in teaching students to follow routinized systems, including student schedules and program schedules
• Provides behavioral interventions and models appropriate behaviors
• Assists children with toileting and other self-care needs.
