The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking an Intensive Instructional Assistant (IIA) assigned to work at Burke Town School. The candidate must be energetic and love working with children. The IIA position's purpose is to develop and interpret individual needs of students with disabilities and/or students in the preschool classroom by implementing social/emotional/behavioral and/or instructional programs in consultation and supervised by special educators and/or teachers and/or preschool teachers/directors. The IIA may provide the special educator and/or teachers and/or preschool teachers/directors with observable student data obtained through direct or indirect instruction that meets the IEP Program goals of students with academic, social/emotional and/or behavioral needs. Position will target goal-directive services to assist students in accessing instruction in a functional and independent manner. Intensive instructional assistants are special education staff or they are preschool staff who assist the preschool teacher/director. IIAs work with small groups (typically 1:1) providing students with intensive needs with intensive therapeutic, social-emotional and/or self care interventions or IIAs work with preschool students and assist the preschool teacher/director with director responsibilities and early childhood licensing requirements.
The pay range for this position is currently $19.95/hr.-$25.80/hr.
