The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking an Intensive Instructional Assistant (IIA) assigned to work at Sutton School in classrooms ranging from early childhood to middle school. The candidate must be energetic and loves working with children. The IIA position's purpose is to develop and interpret individual needs of our youngest students in the early childhood classrooms or supporting students with special needs by helping to create and implement behavior and/or instructional support programs with consultation with the grade level special educator and classroom teacher. Candidates must successfully complete the ParaPro assessment or have an associates or higher degree. The IIA provides observable student data that meet the IEP Program goals of students with developmental delay and/or other special needs. Position will target goal-directed services to assist students in accessing instruction in a developmentally appropriate, functional and independent manner. Background check, including fingerprinting required upon employment. The pay range for this position is $20.85/hr.-$26.96/hr.
The Sutton School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have "choice" and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing.
