Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to lead cross-discipline coordination for transit and multimodal projects. You will integrate architectural, structural, transportation, roadway, and MEP models into a federated, clash-checked environment throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires extensive experience with Autodesk BIM tools and Bentley platforms, plus the ability to mentor staff and develop BIM Execution Plans in a multi-office setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP into a single federated, clash-checked model.
• Model coordination & clash detection — run clash detection in Navisworks and lead resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance — establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards, templates, and workflows.
• Mentorship & guidance — mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
• Act as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to ensure coordination between the design team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform crosscheck of drawings for consistency with QC standards.
• Provide CAD/technical support and ensure interoperability across Autodesk and Bentley toolsets.
• Review manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for design aid and perform material calculations as needed.
• Develop BIM Execution Plans and advise on model scope and LOE with pursuit teams.
• Interface with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on model deliverable requirements and data handoffs.
