Job summary

Job description

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an space intelligence analyst engaging and assisting senior intelligence analyst in the technical analysis and preparation of a final space intelligence product from information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of customer requirements. Provide 24/7 Indications and Warning to the space warfighting domain.

This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include practical knowledge of intelligence research, collection methods, analytical applications, and techniques that includes the evaluation of many diverse sources of information utilizing intelligence information systems in order to participate in developing space intelligence capability and threat assessments. Gathers and analyzes space intelligence information using multi-source knowledge from either regional or functional background/training to current and operational intelligence missions with minimum supervision. Demonstrates knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

OR EDUCATION:

I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position

OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

I have less than the full amount of specialized experience required described in the job opportunity announcement; however, and I have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education, but have not obtained a Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of intelligence research, collection methods analytical applications, and techniques that includes the evaluation of one or more diverse sources of information utilizing multi-source intelligence information systems in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments. Knowledge of conventional analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce analyses of information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation with minimum supervision. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, interrelationships and operations. Ability to conduct unbiased research, identify appropriate available systems/data sources, and produce collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and verbal presentations. Ability to effectively maintain control of classified material, assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of data estimates, and make effective recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT.

Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
