Major U.S. Office – New York, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Texas or California
$750,000 – $2,000,000+ / Highly Competitive Partner Compensation
Intellectual Property Litigation
Equity Partner / Lateral Partner
A leading global law firm is seeking to further strengthen its U.S. Intellectual Property Litigation practice through the addition of an established partner with a significant portable practice. This is a particularly compelling opportunity for an accomplished IP litigator who has built a strong client following but sees the potential to substantially expand their practice through a broader institutional client base, sophisticated cross-selling opportunities and an international platform. The firm has significant strength across intellectual property, technology and complex litigation, alongside complementary transactional and regulatory practices, providing incoming partners with the infrastructure and relationships to grow well beyond their existing book.
The successful candidate will be an established partner with a demonstrable portable book of business, ideally $1 million+, and a strong track record of originating and leading sophisticated IP disputes. Relevant practices may encompass patent infringement litigation, ITC proceedings, PTAB matters, trade secret disputes, trademark and copyright litigation, and related complex commercial disputes. Particular interest will be given to partners representing technology, life sciences, consumer products, industrial or other IP-intensive businesses, as well as those who can demonstrate meaningful opportunities to expand existing client relationships across additional practices and jurisdictions. The firm is specifically interested in entrepreneurial partners who want to grow rather than simply transfer their existing practice.
Candidates should possess excellent academic credentials, admission to the relevant state Bar and a sophisticated private-practice background. Significant first-chair experience, a technical or scientific background, USPTO admission, international mandates, strong institutional client relationships or a portable practice materially exceeding $1 million would be particularly desirable.
