Job summary

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc. seeks an Intellectual Property Counsel to join its Anderson, South Carolina office. You will manage patent clearance, prepare and prosecute applications, and advise engineers and business teams on IP strategy.

The successful candidate holds a engineering degree, a JD, USPTO registration, and is admitted to the bar, with 3–5 years of patent practice. Occasional travel is required as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Must hold a B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed to practice before the USPTO.
• 3–5 years of patent practitioner experience in law firm or corporate setting.
• J.D. from an accredited law school; member in good standing of a state bar.

Responsibilities

• Manage product clearance and patent application preparation and prosecution.
• Advise business and engineering personnel on product clearance and patentability.
• Conduct invention mining and brainstorming sessions.
• Conduct patent clearance and patentability searches.
• Manage portions of the patent portfolio.
• Conduct competitor monitoring.
• Participate in IP Steering Committee Meetings.
• Provide support in patent licensing, enforcement, and controversy matters.
• Contribute to optimizing processes and procedures.

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc., is seeking to fill an in-house Intellectual Property Counsel position located at its Anderson, South Carolina office. Primary Responsibilities

• Manage product clearance and patent application preparation and prosecution.
• Advise TTICPT business and engineering personnel in matters of product clearance, patentability, and related strategies.
• Conduct invention mining and brainstorming sessions with TTICPT personnel.
• Conduct patent clearance and patentability searches.
• Manage portions of TTICPT’s patent portfolio.
